Interview with Actress Appearing in the Movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules”

My 9-year-old daughter Grace had the opportunity to interview Peyton List who plays Holly Hills, the girl whom Greg Heffley likes, in the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules” opening March 25.  The interview follows.  Dr. Brad Schwall

Grace:  What is the general plot of the movie?

Peyton:  Everyone is going into the 7^th grade and Greg and his brother Rodrick are finally getting along.  Greg is trying to teach Rodrick how to follow the rules.  Greg likes Holly Hills, that’s who I play, and tries to get her to like him.

Grace:  How does Rodrick help Greg?

Peyton:  He helps him help his parents to lower their expectations.  That way they are happy when things aren’t too bad.

Grace:  My grandparents love the Diary of a Wimpy Kids books.  Why do you think they appeal to so many different ages?

Peyton:  They are so funny.  And everybody has been that age at one time and knows what it’s like.

Grace:  How does the movie relate to the everyday issues that kids face?

Peyton:  There are the same problems like bullies and popular people.  It’s the same way at my school.  I definitely think that kids can learn from the movie.

Grace:  What did you do to prepare for the movie?

Peyton:  All of the kids got together for two weeks and worked with an acting coach.  We got to know each other and the script.

Grace:  What is your favorite part about making movies?

Peyton:  I like getting to be in a different world.
